Samsung has officially announced new mid range water proof, impact and dust resistant IP67 certified Android phone Samsung Galaxy Xcover 2.  The device runs on Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean layered with Motion UI.

Samsung Galaxy Xcover 2 boasts 4 inch TFT display with a resolution of 800*480 pixels which provides approximately 233ppi pixel density.  The device is powered by Dual core 1GHz processor couple with 1GB of RAM.  The onboard storage capacity is 4GB  along with support for microSD card upto 32GB. The connectivity features of Galaxy Xcover 2 are 2G, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and microUSB 2.0.
Samsung Galaxy Xcover 2 sports 5 Mega pixel auto focus  primary camera with LED flash.  There is also a VGA front facing camera for video calling.  This new Galaxy Smartphone comes with 1700 mAh battery and many preloaded apps such as S Voice, S Cloud, Best Shot and Samsung Hubs. Apart from these, the phone also has apps like Samsung AllShare Play and Cardio Trainer Pro.
The Samsung Galaxy Xcover 2 is a IP67 certified device. That is it can withstand damage if it immersed in upto 1 meter deep in water for 30 minutes. The device has a battery cover lock as well as strap holder and a dedicated camera key.
